Cosmetology School Gains Appeal as a New Beginning

In an era where unemployment is at a high, one of the best things anyone can do is find a way to make oneself more marketable. One of the most surefire ways to learn more marketable skills is to go back to school, and a remarkably high amount of new students are turning to a cosmetology degree, rekindling an old career passion as well gaining entrance to a whole other field of opportunity:
“Our typical student is customarily a job changer,” Academy founder Peggy Sue Schmoldt said.
She says the school has been growing in recent years as people are looking for a new career that is still in high demand or returning to their roots in cosmetology.
“They may have taken other career paths where the market may have been better like it or something of that sort, and now they’re deciding to complete it because they realize this is relatively recession proof as an industry,” Schmoldt.
“Sometimes when people are feeling bad it’s something that makes them feel good,” Bosman said.
Between flexible hours (to keep your day job while you study), a relatively short completion time, and the skills that pay the bills, it’s no wonder that a diploma in cosmetology is becoming quite the desirable and valuable workplace commodity these days.
